Patron Saint Festivities of La Merced

Celebrated on September 23, 24 and 25, they represent a harmonious combination of religious and festive events. Among the religious, the procession in honor of the Virgin of Mercy, Patroness of Gátova, stands out, which has a large influx of devotees. Among the holidays, the open-air festivals and shows, the mascletás, the fireworks display and the traditional Jotas. The “Jota de Gátova” is the most important folkloric manifestation of the population, it is of unknown origin, a true cultural jewel that has its own music, lyrics and dance.
